Deluxe Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake (Sue)
- 3 oz. Hersheys baking chocolate
- 1/3 cup water
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar (1 box)
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/4 cup sifted flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup water
Break chocolate into pieces + place in a small saucepan with 1/3 cup water. Stir constantly over low heat until melted. Cool. Cream butter and sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend in chocolate. Combine flour, baking soda, + salt and add alternately with 1 cup water. Pour batter into well greased and floured pan. Bake 30-35 min 350 degrees.
