Oatmeal Cake

• 1 cup quick cooking oats
• 1 1/2 cup boiling water

mix and cool

• cream
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1/2 cup shortening
• 2 eggs

add to cooled oats, then add

• 1 1/2 cup flour
• 1 tsp. soda
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp cinnamon

Bake 350 degree oven

Topping

• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup evaporated milk
• 1 cup coconut
• 1 cup chopped nuts
• 6 tbs oleo

Spread on baked cake + toast
